Vandalia Junior High The State Superintendent’s office and Remote Learning Advisory Group declared that schools would transition to Remote Learning Days beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020. What does this mean for students moving forward? Students currently have earned their 3rd Quarter Grade for the year... however, Students can improve their grade by engaging and completing the assigned work by their teachers Teachers will review the assigned work and input completed assignments into Teacherease for any new material for the 4th quarter To be marked complete, students need to show effort and competence Students not showing effort and/or competence will be contacted by the teacher to assist in making progress toward this goal If student continues to not show progress after intervention/contact from the teacher will result in contact from administration At the end of the Remote Learning Term (4th Quarter) , students will receive one of the following designations: Assignments/learning tasks will be reviewed to see if improvement occurred. If the assignments are “complete”, the students overall grade will improve Assignments/learning tasks will be reviewed. If the assignments are “incomplete”, the student’s grade in that course will be defaulted to the cumulative average through 3 quarters. The primary focus is to engage and improve grades of our cumulative 3rd quarter students with failures. The secondary focus is to provide enrichment and continued learning opportunities for our students who are passing / demonstrating proficiency.

Lunches being prepared
Let go of the stress right now the e-learning and packets might be causing. Instead, let's share our stories on social media how we can do our BEST together. Do this by posting and use #VandalStrong and #ILSchoolsStepUp. We can do this! I know we can.

Dear Parents- We are experiencing something new to all of us and doing the best we can in this current situation. My ask is do the best you can with the e-learning and packets. Don't get bogged down with the detals such as the 300 minutes or the exact times to sign-in.
