South Central High School and Vandalia High School are joining together once again to raise money for Alzheimer's Awareness! If you or your business would like to sponsor the t-shirts that will be sold as a fundraiser, please fill out the form and send it to South Central High School. VCUSD #203 will not have student attendance on Friday, Oct. 11th for a Teacher Institute day. School will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14th in observance of Columbus Day. The normal school schedule will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 15th.

VES Fall Fun Fest will be held Thursday, October 3rd. Dinner will be served from 5:00-7:00 pm. The meal will be chili/peanut butter sandwich or a hot dog and chips - $5.00 for an adult and $3.00 for a child. The Festival will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 pm - each game is worth one ticket. The cost is $5.00 for 20 tickets. All VES students and families are invited to attend.

Mrs. Kern and Mrs. Major attend Kaskaskia College Counselor Day. They wanted to give a shout out to VCHS alumnus Morgan Dagen (Class of 2023) who served on the Student Panel. Morgan spoke about the importance of her Dual Credit and Jump Start classes through KC that she took while attending VCHS. These classes have given her an advantage in her program and she will become a Registered Nurse at the young
age of 19! If anyone would like more information on these courses reach out to Mrs. Kern, Mrs. Major, or Kelsey Tate (Dual Credit Advisor at KC).

The annual Volley For a Cure Game will be on October 22, 2024, in the VCHS Gym vs Greenville.

VCUSD #203 will be dismissing school early on Thursday, September 12th and Friday, September 13th for Teacher Inservice and School Improvement. Dismissal Times are as follows:
VES - 11:30 am; there will be no PreK classes on these days. VJHS - 11.30 am - 4th grade; walkers, pickups and early bus students; 11:45 for 5th - 8th grades. VCHS - 11:45 am.

The parade will begin in front of VCHS and travel West on Fillmore Street, North on Railroad Dr, East on W. Fletcher Street and conclude back at the VCHS parking lot.


ATTENTION VCHS FRESHMAN FOOTBALL:
Freshman football will now be playing Shelbyville at 6pm at home Thursday(9/5/24) night. A Concession stand will be available

Attention Football Fans, we are excited to kickoff our 1st home football game tomorrow night! Please be reminded of our Spectator Guidelines for High School Football Games:
1. All students who are not in high school must be accompanied by their parent or guardian. If the adult leaves the game, the student under their care must leave as well.
2. Once a student enters, they may not leave and reenter unless they are accompanied by an adult.
3. Elementary, Junior High, and High School students are expected to be seated for the majority of the game.
4. No throwing of any object is permitted. Objects will be confiscated.
5. Skateboards and bikes are not allowed inside of the gates.
6. All school rules apply at any school event.
7. Failure to comply with the above expectations will result in students being removed from the game and/or parent/guardian contact.
8. NO LOITERING in or around the concession stand area, behind the bleachers or restroom areas.
