YDI Scholarship
Due August 29th

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship
Due August 31st
This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to 25 students in Illinois coming from low income homes. You must be enrolled full-time, going to a 2 or 4 yr college, have a family gross income of 50,000 or less, be involved in extra-curricular activities, and have at least a 2.0 GPA. Prudential Spirit of Community Scholarship

Students involved in hours of volunteer work may be eligible for this award. The scholarships are worth $1,000. The Lead Roster B2B Sales & Marketing Scholarship is a highly competitive award for high school and college students interested in sales & marketing.  Unlike most scholarships which require a simple essay and "good luck" to win, the Lead Roster scholarship puts the tools for winning in your hands by judging your entry on your ability to market and sell your own ideas!  Students applying must submit the URL of a video they've uploaded to YouTube where you explain, present, convince, inspire, entertain, market and/or sell us your reason why you deserve to win this scholarship. The video can be anything that you feel will compel us to choose your entry as long as it has "Lead Roster Scholarship" in the title and is publicly viewable.  Studying in the fields of Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Communications, or IT are recommended but not required. Being passionate about communicating your ideas is an absolute must. Publicity.ai SEO & Content Marketing Scholarship

The Publicity.ai SEO & Content Marketing Scholarship is a highly competitive award for high school and college students interested in SEO and content marketing. Unlike most scholarships which simply require good luck to win, the Publicity.ai scholarship puts the tools for winning in your hands by judging your entry on your ability to appreciate and explain genius marketing!  Students applying must submit a brief essay explaining the best use of content marketing --the act of producing content to compel your audience to appreciate and share it-- that they have seen. In 5 paragraphs or less, you should share what you saw (feel free to link to it if its online), how it made you feel, the call-to-action, and ultimately explain why a certain marketing campaign was the best use of content marketing that you have ever seen for the purposes of achieving business goals (typically increasing revenue and profits).  Studying in the fields of Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Communications, or IT are recommended but not required.  Being passionate about appreciating great marketing is an absolute must. Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Florence A. Cook Recruitment Grant-Delta Kappa Gamma Society

The applicant is required to write a 550 word essay which describes the applicant’s career, vocational, or academic goal in which the scholarship could provide aid. The National Co-Op Scholarship Program

Illinois PTA Scholarship Lillian E. Glover

This is a $500-$1,000 scholarship for seniors that are in the top 25% of their class. Students must be entering a program to acquire a degree in education or education-related field. This would include librarians, instructional media specialists, school nurses, school psychologists, or social workers (all of which require certification from a State Board of Education). Monsanto Scholarships

EIU Theatre Arts Scholarship

American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships
Due March 1st
1. The Department of Illinois Children and Youth Scholarship is $1000 for students working toward a degree in Education with emphasis on subjects required for teaching Special Education.
2. The ADA Mucklestone Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who has had a father, grandfather, or great grandfather who is a veteran that served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and the present. It is for $1000.
3. The Illinois Scholarship for Junior Members is awarded to a daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, or sisters of a veteran. Those pursuing a nursing career are not eligible. It is for $1000.
4. The Mildred R. Knoles Scholarship is for veterans, children, grandchildren, or great grandchildren of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. This applicant must be a resident of Illinois or a member in good standing of the American Legion Family. It is for $1000.
5. The Children of Warriors National President’s Scholarship is awarded to daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great granddaughters, or great grandsons of veterans who served in the Armed Forces between 1917 and now. It is awarded to a high school senior. There are 3 divisions: $3500, $3000, and $2500.
6. The Spirit of Youth Scholarship is for junior members who have been an ALA member for 3 consecutive years and holds a 2016 membership. It is awarded to a high school senior. It is for $5000.
7. The American Legion Auxiliary Non Traditional Scholarship is for students who are returning to the classroom after his/her formal education was interrupted or beginning later in life. It is for $2000.
8. The Presidents’ Parley Nurses Scholarship is for a high school senior or who has graduated from an accredited school and is enrolled in a hospital program. It is for $1000.
9. The Edna Mae Unfer Scholarship is for an applicant who is 30 years of age or older seeking a career in nursing and has been accepted into a nursing program or enrolled in classes for the nursing program. It is for $1000.

National Defense Transportation Association Scholarship

Illinois AMVETS Scholarship Programs

There are several scholarships ranging from Trade School, Nursing, son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter or military, and Junior ROTC that are available through this program. You can find the brochure and application online at www.ilamvets.org.

Society of Professional Journalists
Due February 23rd

Phi Beta Kappa Young Scholar Award

This scholarship is for Juniors and is worth $100. Students must submit a 500 word essay written on one of three provided topics.

This $500 scholarship is given to a senior who is an employee, child of an employee, or the child of a member of the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce. Students must have a 2.0 GPA to apply. South Central FS Scholarship

This $500 one time scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors are enrolled, or in the process of enrolling in one of the following higher-education programs: Engineering, Surveying, or Mathematics. Douglas R. Rames Memorial Character Award

This scholarship of $1000 is awarded to a senior with outstanding character and leadership qualities. The applicant must have a 2.0 GPA. Applications are available online at www.thefnb.com.

Charles A. Evans Scholarship

This scholarship is available for any senior graduated from Vandalia High School, living within ten miles of the city of Vandalia, displays exceptional scholastic ability, and has genuine financial needs. Applications are available online at www.thefnb.com.

Edward W. Mills Scholarship

This scholarship is a non-renewable $1000 awarded to a graduating senior from Fayette County schools with demonstrated scholastic ability and who are enrolling in a university, college, or junior college.
